STEP 2010 Group complete

Text On 1st March 2010 the remaining 5 participants in the STEP 2010 group arrived in Stuttgart to join Mpho Seretse, who came to Germany one month earlier to learn German in Schwäbisch Hall. After the one-week induction which included intercultural/business training and a tour of the Mercedes-Benz plant and Museum, the STEP participants started their internships at Daimler in Berlin, Sindelfingen and Stuttgart on 8th March 2010. Four of the STEP interns are students at the Polytechnic of Namibia. Etuhole Efraim and Gabriel Nhinda are completing their Bachelor of Information Technology and are currently working in IT departments at Daimler. Desmund Nawaseb, a mechanical engineer, is working in the department "Lightweight Vehicles" in the Mercedes-Benz plant in Sindelfingen. Mbirimuje Ngupandjara, graduating this year with a Bachelor of Technology in Accounting and Finance is working in the financial department dealing with revenue controlling. Lieb Otto from South Africa has just graduated from Stellenbosch University. He is carrying out his internship at Daimler in Berlin in the department "Society and Technology Research". Mpho Seretse, a finance graduate from the University of Botswana, is carrying out his internship at Daimler in the department "Controlling Participations". During the next six months the STEP interns will not only gain valuable work experience in their area of study, they will also continue to learn the German language and get to know Germany and its culture by taking part in excursions organised by the SAFRI Office.
